New product : KTM 1290 Super Duke R

Extreme lines and the same twin engine as superbike RC8R increased in displacement. The Super Naked from Mattighofen , with its 180 hp, 144 Nm of torque and just 189 kg of weight, is ready to challenge against any other sport bike.

For KTM the name Super Duke has an important value: the name is in fact the same as the first real road bike made by KTM in 2005 , a radical motorcycle with a chassis Superandy.

Today KTM gives that name to the bike that is candidate to be the most powerful naked bike on the market. Take a look to the numbers: the V2 LC8 , already used on the RC8 and on the Adventure 1190, comes in a new version increased to 1,301 cc. The result is an extraordinary power and torque (180 hp at 8,870 rpm and 144 Nm, 100 of whichare already available at 2,500 rpm).

And even the electronics of the 1290 KTM Super Duke R is the best in class, with all modern controls: three mappings for the engine: Rain, Street, Sports , and the ABS with also a special map “supermoto” to allow the drift into corners.

In its final configuration , which we will see at the EICMA in Milan, the 1290 Super Duke R is not very different from the prototype that we saw last year: the angle of inclination of the tube is 24° 9′ and the wheelbase is 1,482 mm; also confirmed the choreographic single arm and Brembo monoblock calipers M50.
